DARE Festival 2024 shines a spotlight on inclusivity and courage

The much-anticipated DARE Festival 2024 is set to take place at Gateway Theatre on 13 November, featuring an impressive lineup of both renowned and emerging artists, with a strong focus on inclusivity. This year's festival is headlined by celebrated Singaporean jazz singer Jacintha, pop sensation shazza, reggae rapper Masia One, and many more, with a unique roster of artists living with disabilities, including Andrea Hosking, Sky Shen, and Lily Goh. The festival promises to be a transformative experience, blending music, art, and storytelling in ways that challenge societal norms and champion courage.

DARE Festival has quickly established itself as a platform that breaks barriers, merging the talents of able-bodied artists and those with disabilities to deliver a powerful message: art transcends all limitations. This year, audiences will witness an extraordinary journey of self-discovery, as performers explore themes of identity, resilience, and inclusivity. The festival is divided into three acts: Dare To Be, Dare To Live, and Dare To Be-Live, each representing different facets of empowerment and self-expression.

One of the standout performers, Lily Goh, a respected figure in Singapore’s Deaf community, will debut at the festival with an inspiring performance that showcases the beauty and strength of Deaf music. Her participation underscores the festival’s commitment to reaching the Deaf community, with accessible features such as Singapore Sign Language interpreters and captions.

DARE Festival 2024 is not just a celebration of art—it is a movement, one that hopes to reshape global perspectives on disability and inclusivity, continuing its mission to provide opportunities and create lasting social change. Tickets range from $20 to $25, available at sistic.
