LASALLE Rock & Indie Festival 2021 returns this September with stellar lineup featuring Houg, Forests, Caracal, Kitty Purrnaz, and more

The annual Rock & Indie Festival (RIF) is back for its fifth edition this year – this time featuring live, on-campus performances from a star-studded lineup.

Presented by LASALLE's School of Contemporary Music, the festival will begin at 5 PM on 17 and 18 September at LASALLE College of the Arts. Focused on showcasing Singapore's alternative music scene, a total of 14 acts will take the stage at the event.

The first day sees performances of fresh releases and new music premieres by artist-producer Houg, pop artist kotoji, indie rock act Stopgap, and alt-pop songstress Kitty Purrnaz. On the second day, emo band Forests, prog-rock act Amateur Takes Control, psych-rock stars Spacedays, and post-hardcore outfit Caracal will take the stage.

Six budding acts selected in an open audition will also perform on both days. These performers are Cactus Cactus, xena giam, Oto Sequeira, La-Royale Sound System, Uranophobia, and Imp Act.

Tickets for the festival are free of charge but will need to be booked at Peatix. Performances will be held at the Singapore Airlines Theatre (B1) and the Flexible Performance Space (Blk F, Level 1) on LASALLE's McNally campus. Spectators can also view the acts online from the College’s Creative Cube (Blk C, Level 1), where an exclusive live-stream of the festival will be broadcasted.

LASALLE's RIF is one of Singapore's most iconic campus music events, with last year's edition having taken place online due to the pandemic.
