Breakout Star Shye is currently in New York City — on the biggest billboard no less.
The 19-year old singer-songwriter and producer finds herself right in the middle of Times Square on a massive billboard for Spotify's EQUAL Campaign which aims to highlight rising female artists across the globe. Previously, fellow Singaporean artists Linying and Jasmine Sokko were also featured under the same initiative.
Shye could barely contain her excitement (and ours) in her Instagram post. "from da small b to the BIG B!!!!!! bedroom to billboard!!!!".
She also showed her support for the EQUAL campaign and her fellow female artists. "THANK U for hearing and increasing the volume of our voices." "OUR music speaks and it has power to make a difference".

Shye is making 2021 her year, and we could not be prouder. Earlier this year, Her debut indie-pop album Days to Morning Glory won for Best New Artist at the 14th Freshmusic Awards, followed by a nomination at the 2022 BandLab NME Awards for Best New Asian Act. Now, she's featured on the same campaign as musicians Saweetie, Red Velvet's Wendy, and Duda Beat.
This year, Shye dropped the single, 'notgonnalie', along with her newest album hello TRINITY, which is featured in the EQUAL Spotify playlist for Singapore and Malaysia.
