Dr. Darius Lim will become the first Singaporean composer to release an album via renowned classical label Naxos Records this year.
Set to be recorded at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music this March, the choral record will feature contributions from the Voices of Singapore Choral Society and a team of homegrown producers and sound engineers.
The project will comprise a total of 14 choral pieces from Lim, including 'The Fire Dance of Luna', 'Echoes of the Lost World', 'Dayung Sampan', and 'Ashes to Dust'.

The announcement comes just weeks after local singing organisation Voices of Singapore (VOS), which Lim founded and is the Artistic Director of, signed a partnership with Naxos Records.
Lim, who joined the Board of Directors of the International Federation for Choral Music (IFCM) last year, said: “In this rapidly evolving musical landscape, it's essential to continuously innovate and reimagine our craft. This album represents music that thousands of choristers around the world have sung, and I am incredibly honoured that Naxos will be recording this with Voices of Singapore,"
He continued: The significance of this project is heightened by the fact that the recording artists are not merely professional musicians, but Singaporeans from diverse backgrounds. Collaborating with Naxos Records gives us a global stage to showcase Singapore's compositions to an appreciative worldwide audience. As both a composer and conductor, I'm profoundly privileged.”
