The annual Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) is back with from 16 May to 1 June with the theme More Than Ever. Organised by Arts House Limited (AHL) and commissioned by the National Arts Council (NAC), the 2025 edition of Singapore’s premier performing arts festival presents a dynamic slate that includes 15 commissioned local works.
The lineup includes a number of bold and innovative programmes across the realms of theatre, dance, film and visual arts. On the music end, SIFA 2025 is highlighted by an intriguing new production called stray gods from accomplished musician, composer, playwright and multidisplinary artist weish.
Billed as a multimedia exploration of sound, stray gods will present "a new body of work" from weish that "draws from an ancient text and incorporates the dying songs and language of her heredity." This festival commission will find weish as "she builds upon and looks beyond her signature sonic palette to discover new approaches to storytelling through music."
stray gods is slated to take place at 8PM on 30 May, 31 May and 1 June at the SOTA Studio Theatre. There will also be a post-show talk with the artists involved after the Saturday, 31 May performance. Tickets are priced at $48 and are available for purchase here.
