Singapore-based rapper FRGN returns with a new single Deadlock that serves as the official soundtrack to an upcoming local martial arts drama short film of the same name. Bringing back hip-hop stalwart Charles ENERO, who last collaborated with FRGN on the pop-rap track "Blue Tick", this new release takes a dark and haunting turn for the duo, weaving a tale of betrayal and bitter rivalry. FRGN delivers an aggressive rap performance that channels the paranoia and desperation of the lead character, a hitman that is forced to betray his best friend turned rival gang lord in order to save his loved one. Charles ENERO provides his signature lyrical flair to the track trading bars in an intense examination of the protagonist who is backed into an impossible quandary and the consequences of his choices. The short film "Deadlock" is currently on its festival and is officially selected for 7 film festivals internationally with a dozen more pending and has been screened in a variety of cities around the world such as Sevilla in Spain, London in UK, Austin Texas in the US and more ahead of its local release in early 2022. It has also managed to clinch 3 awards from the "World Film Carnival Singapore", a film competition held in Singapore that welcomes international film makers' entries.
