aeriqah drops introspective new EP 'House Parties' — listen

A new three-track EP from aeriqah has arrived.

Released on 1 September, House Parties is an indie-folk and soul project from the homegrown singer-songwriter that features tunes made over a three-year period.

Described as "a profound exploration of the past and present", House Parties follows aeriqah as she experiences the highs and lows of a night out with her peers.

In the EP's opener, 'Orion's Apartment', aeriqah sings of the importance of life's simpler moments. Coming after it are 'Party Trick', a heavier track that deals with dissociation, and the closing number 'Amusing', which sees aeriqah reflect on how her past experiences have shaped her into who she is today.

House Parties was developed in collaboration with producer and bassist Tim De Cotta, composer and musician Redwan Hamzah, singer-songwriter KHAi, and drummer and percussionist Josiah Suthan
