Art Fazil will hold a concert in celebration of the 30th anniversary of his self-titled album later this year.
Scheduled to be held at the Esplanade Recital Studio on 6 October, Songs of A Rebellious Teen – Art Fazil's 30th Anniversary Album Celebration will be a trip down memory lane for fans of Art's music and a celebration of the veteran musician's artistry.
During the concert, the singer behind the COMPASS Music Award-winning track 'Sometimes When I Feel Blue' will be supported by his original backing band, The Healers.
Since his days as a member of the folk group Rausyanfikir, during which he was a proponent of the Nusantara movement in Singapore, Art has remained an important figure in the local Malay music scene thanks to his strong passion for Malay music, versatility, and thoughtful songwriting.
In a 2021 interview with Hear65, Art said: "I see Singapore’s Malay music as a soundtrack of a people that are trying to come to terms with cultural changes, urbanisation, displacement, religious revivalism, the loss of native political power, and at the heart of it, sweet love songs to make it through the day."
Tickets to Art's upcoming concert, priced at $35, are available for purchase here.
