‘Start Again’ also marks the first time Haneri and Singaporean producer and managing partner of Snakeweed Studios, Josh Wei, have worked together. In addition, it serves as the first of many singles building up to her upcoming album The Haneri Experience, which is slated for release this year.

The 3 minute acoustic track is as vulnerable and emotive as it can be, with the songstress sharing her musings in a press release statement: “‘Start Again’ is a story of my time in the United States, from my arrival in 2010 to my exit during the pandemic at the beginning of 2020. It was an incredibly exciting and eventful decade that I’ve put in this song, quietly penned at home and played only to a handful of people on my guitar."

During her tenure in the United States, she worked with names such as Charlie Puth, Paloma Faith, Dash Berlin, Kehlani, and Rachel Platten. “I’ve been so blessed to see the best of the best work and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t humbled by the experience, but I’ve also seen the worth in my storytelling through songwriting.”

Prior to this, Haneri collaborated with Dominic Chin for a reimagined version of the latter’s track  titled ‘cry’, as well as other releases in ‘Fave Sound’, ‘Saviour’, ‘2021’, ‘Feel that (From “A Song a Day”), ‘Waiting On You’, and ‘Brighter Side’ in 2021.
