Hear65 Music Reviews: Quando, Jason Yu, CIRCO, and more

Since the beginning, we’ve been reviewing music on Hear65 every week, and now we'd like to break away from this tradition and pass the baton over to you - the listeners of Singapore’s music. If you've ever been itching to share your thoughts about a new track release, or simply want to introduce good earworms to more listeners, then read on.

For the uninitiated, the Hear65 website has a Review Function to help visitors discover and gain greater insight into the music in Singapore. Good music should always be shared, and we are inviting contributions from friends and fans of our homegrown artists.

Every two weeks, the Hear65 team will select 6-8 reviews to publish in a Review Round Up article. Just check out the latest releases and submit your review for a chance to be featured.

Here’s what readers have to say this week:

FLOW - QUANDO

MusicLover28, 100/100: A high-energy track with a melody that when combined with the cool bassline, creates a song with a great FLOW. Love this track!

MAKE HER MINE - JASON YU

Janelle Lau, 90/100: this is such a cute song! It gives off wholesome vibes, something i would vibe to in my room or on a nice car ride with a significant other.

GUESS WE'RE GOOD - CIRCO

Loh Renelle, 90/100: After two and a half minutes of bouncy and radiant electronic beats, we are thrown back into the era of 2010s, echoing the music style of Justin Timberlake and The Chainsmokers, which perfectly fits the EDM genre, and giving way to layers of synth chords. It's a song perfectly engineered to dance to at a music festival. The gradual buildup to the chorus preceded by the beat drop leading to smooth-listening vocals, really gives one the chills. This song touches on the concept of heartbreak and perfectly encapsulates what it's like to receive the short end of the stick, but later dwells on recovery and acceptance.

FOR YOU - SCENERY

Amanda Ong, 100/100: This is the perfect song to just chill out with a cup of hot chocolate by your window where you can see the snow outside. Unfortunately, it doesn't snow in Singapore so the condensation from the AC will have to do. But yes the vibes are immaculate.

LAY LOW - ELSA MICKAYLA, ZIONN, JUNG

faith 70/100: This is the type of song I would hear on a radio, or if I was really happy and wanted to vibe. The rhythm is really catchy and the rap flows really well. I also enjoyed listening to Elsa’s voice! :) Would recommend it to anyone who's looking to get into local pop!

一個夢想 - Kaitlyn Lin 凯特琳

Teresa,100/100: A lovely and dream-like song... Gave me so many memories when I first heard it. This song is like a story, and it resonated with me well. Easy to sing along as well as the melody got into my head easily. Keep up the good job!
