Republic Polytechnic's (RP) famed IGNITE! Music Festival recently announced the stacked lineup for their 2024 edition, and its looking like can't-miss event.

Day 1 will be headlined by a wide range of accomplished local musicians such as FXTRT, shazza, Tell Lie Vision, motifs and Benjamin Kheng. Plus, the eventual winner of the IGNITE! Band Auditions will also get the chance to share the stage with these established names.

Likewise, Day 2's bill promises to be just as exciting. The artists slated to perform include Maker Records (featuring members of Bakers in Space, Bennett Bay and Ethel Yap), Elaine, ICEBOX, Pleasantry, WHYLUCAS, Josh Makazo, Subsonic Eye and Shye.

Beyond the main festival, IGNITE! will also be holding other fringe progammes such as:
- IGNITE! Tribute V: Gaia - which features RP Jammerz, Arena, Replug and Republic Rhapsody at Republic Polytechnic’s South Agora Stage as they cover local favourites on 16 July.
- IGNITE! Sessions: Maker Records - Crossroads - incubation workshops at *SCAPE The Ground Theatre on 18th July and 25 July delving into performance techniques, acoustic music arrangements, songwriting, technical aspects, and more. These hour-long sessions will be led by James Lye, founder of Maker Records, and feature insights from Bakers In Space (Eugene & Ernest), Bennett Bay, and Ethel Yap.
- IGNITE! Band Auditions - Finalists Pathetic Ordinary, JJDROY, Shinseina, Ahmadul Amin, Last Minute, Taledrops, Ezekiel and Sarco vie to join the line-up for the festival this year. Auditions will be held on 20 July at *SCAPE and will be judged by Zaini Tahir (Artistic Director, The Republic Cultural Centre), Gordon Khoo (Arts Programmer), James Lye and David Siow (Steady State Records).
- IGNITE! Open Mic - Selected after an open call and submission process, 4 RP students and alumni will be showcased at this open mic session on 23 July, 12.30pm – 1.30pm, at Artease @ TRCC.
IGNITE! Music Festival 2024 will take place on 26 and 27 July at The Republic Cultural Centre. Admission is free.
