Amarkala Deepavali will be back for a new edition this festive season.
Mediacorp has announced that its annual Deepavali countdown show be held at The Theatre at Mediacorp on 11 November. The event will be broadcast across Mediacorp's mewatch platform, official YouTube channel, Oli 968 radio station, and free-to-air Vasantham television channel from 10 PM onwards.
As with previous iterations of the show, those who tune in to Amarkala Deepavali 2023 can expect to catch musical and dance displays from homegrown artists and performers over two hours. Set to take the stage are Vasantham vocalists Elamaran, Suthasini, Vishnu Balaji, and Prasanna and arts groups Rameshwara, Freaky Fresh, Prettyboyz, NUS Naach, and Lasapphires.
Also part of the show's entertainment lineup are Vasantham Star 2023 champion Navein Gunasekaran and Yaar Antha Star 2020 contestant Sneha Mahesh, who will be teaming up for a live rendition of 'Jollikkum Deepavali'. Composed, written, and produced by Shabir Sulthan, the number is the theme song of this Deepavali.
Amarkala Deepavali 2023 will be hosted by Karthikeyan Somasundaram, Udaya Soundari, and Malaysia's RJ Suresh.
