Sheikh Haikel, J.M3, Hairi Eyes, Azrael, and PRAV have joined forces for an electrifying new track for adidas.
On 22 September, the sportswear giant took to its social media pages to unveil a live performance video of the Singapore edition of the 'adidas Originals NMD_V3 Cypher', in which the five homegrown artists showcase their musical prowess while celebrating the "NMD spirit of Originality" and "modern trailblazers".
A cypher refers to a rap that brings together rappers, R&B artists, beatboxers, and breakdancers, and the local version of it features a cinematic, UK drill-influenced instrumental created by .WAV(Y) co-founder PRAV and comprises memorable verses from hip-hop veteran Sheikh Haikel, bilingual artist J.M3, rising R&B singer Hairi Eyes, and underground rapper Azrael.
“NMD stands for ‘nomad' and the iconic adidas footwear franchise stands as a symbol that celebrates unapologetic creativity, and the forging of new paths. Through the 'adidas Originals NMD_V3 Cypher' Singapore edition, we sought to celebrate our legacy in music and hip-hop with veteran and up-and-coming local music artists to inspire future generations to create new paths," said Tiffany Cheah, Brand Communications Manager of adidas Singapore.
The project's five artists will present a live performance of the cypher at a party on 6 October. To stand a chance of scoring passes to the event, members of the public can participate in a contest on Instagram.

Launched in Singapore on 22 September this year, the adidas Originals NMD_V3 sneakers are the latest iteration of the German company's 2015 NMD silhouettes.
