Ding Yi Music Company to kick off new chamber series with 'Says Hu' concert this October

The Ding Yi Music Company will be kicking off a new chamber music series this October.

Titled Chamber Classics《精细集》, it will centre around the "intricacies and classics" of Chinese chamber music and allow concert-goers to discover what distinguishes traditional Chinese instruments and instrument sections from others.

Set to be held at the Esplanade Recital Studio on 1 October, Chamber Classics' opening show, Says Hu 胡 • 说, will showcase the huqin section of Chinese chamber music. Featuring solo performances and the debut of a local composition, 'Sword Sorrow', the event will help to foster a deeper appreciation of the huqin section in concert-goers.

Those in attendance will also be able to witness the collision of traditional Chinese instruments and Western string instruments.

Says Hu will feature huqin player Chen Ning, double bassist Chee Jun Hong, curator and huqin player Chin Yen Choong, concertmaster and huqin player Fred Chan Hong Wei, resident conductor Wong De Li, Derrick, and artistic advisor Li Bao Shun

Tickets to Says Hu are now available for $28 via SISTIC.
