ItsRainingRaincoats launches 'Groove for Good' initiative to teach migrant workers to play the guitar — here's how you can help

If you have a passion for music, making friends, and teaching others, ItsRainingRaincoats' new initiative is something you have to check out!

A charity that aims to foster deeper connections between migrant workers and residents of Singapore, ItsRainingRaincoats is putting the call out for volunteers and donations for Groove for Good, an initiative that hopes to match migrant workers interested in learning the guitar with volunteer guitar teachers.

Interested applicants may also sign up as matchmakers or management volunteers. Matchmakers help to match migrant workers with volunteer teachers while management volunteers help with the smooth running of the music programme.

The programme will be held at the charity's inspIRRe store at 470 Upper Paya Lebar, where they also host migrant workers for free shopping on weekends. On top of that, the organisation is looking for donors with guitars or guitar equipment in excellent condition. Members of the public may also donate to ItsRainingRaincoats' fundraiser to support the programme.

On its website, ItsRainingRaincoats shared: "Music is a great unifier. Join us as we roll out our newest intiative to strengthen bonds with our migrant brothers over guitar lessons. Who knows maybe a couple of migrant brothers could join some of our rock bands in the not too distant future! Open to everyone with an interest in guitars."
