Jasmine Sokko creates a song using sound samples from IKEA furniture — watch

Jasmine Sokko has once again proved that her creativity knows no bounds.

Taking to her official Instagram page on 19 October, the Singaporean singer-songwriter and producer shared a new track that she had put together using sound samples from IKEA's new OBEGRÄNSAD furniture collection.

Titled 'Weekend (Demo)', the dance-inducing number features the commonly heard sounds of a chair being dragged across the floor, metal armrests being hit, and bags being shaken and crumpled. The items used in the song can also be spotted in an accompanying black-and-white music video.

"Closed in my crib, my home becomes my universe and my furniture, my instrument. Feeling inspired by the @ikeasingapore OBEGRÄNSAD collection, I made a little weekend bop using sounds sampled from the furniture," wrote Jasmine in her post.

Scheduled to be launched in Singapore on 27 October 2022, the OBEGRÄNSAD is a collaborative effort between IKEA and house music supergroup Swedish House Mafia that is geared towards DJs, producers, music fans, and creatores who are looking to make music from the comfort of their homes. Items in the new line include a clock, an armchair, shelving units, bags, stands for laptops, speakers, and records, and more.
