Written and produced by Sokko herself, the 2-minute electro-pop narrates the singer-songwriter’s sentiments when it comes to finding “the right one”.
“‘we could be electric’ is a love song… until it’s not. It’s a track of imagining what it means to finally meet someone special and though the time has not yet come but there’s hope that when it’s my turn, it would be worth the wait,” shared Sokko in a press release statement.
“There’s undoubtedly societal pressure to fit in and settle down, especially from the older generation given that my mum already had me before she was my age. Someday last year, I stopped feeling left out about my non-existence dating life and embraced spending time alone a lot more. In fact, my happiness has always resided in my own hands.”

‘we could be so electric’ marks the first of a series of singles released by Sokko in 2022, as well as her first-ever release mixed in Dolby Atmos. Teasing listeners on what can be expected from her this year, she said: “I don’t want to be predictable anymore. I don’t want to be confined to a genre. I just want to make whatever sound that would bring out how I feel in the most accurate manner.”
Prior to ‘we could be so electric’, Sokko released an EP in 2021 titled θi = θr, which notably features a cross-country collaboration with Rena Lovelis from Californian pop band Hey Violet.
