Houg and Don Aaron are in the 'Department of Loved', exploring the realms of acceptance

Singaporean chillwave artist-producer Houg has released a brand new single ‘Department of Loved’, with homegrown vaporwave artist Don Aaron on the 11th of February. The track marks the 5th and final single building up to his debut album The Biting Tempo, slated for release in March.

‘Department of Loved’ sees the intertwining of Houg and Aaron’s voices drenched in melancholia, vocalising the acceptance of a collapsed friendship, and culminates in a rich and lush saxophone solo. It also serves as a response to Houg’s previously released single, ‘Excuse Me, (What’s The Time)?’, which centered around the denial of a failed friendship. Now, however, together with Aaron, it embodies the digestion of its downfall, and the willingness to accept its fate.

“When I got my good friend Don Aaron on board to help co-write the track, I really wanted to tap into his perspective. A couple years my senior and a humble person by nature, I found his thoughts and experiences over the matter of failed friendships could be really useful in helping me embrace the term of acceptance a lot better than I ever could do so myself (at my age, anyway),’ shared Houg in a press release statement.

Prior to ‘Department of Loved’, Houg released four singles in ‘Metro (4:35)’, ‘Excuse Me (What’s the Time?)’, ‘Jarr’, and ‘7 Ain’t Home’.
