Akeem Jahat and Soul Dot Music have released their first single of the year together, ‘friend friend’, on the 24th of February via local music label Cross Ratio Entertainment.

The track addresses the misapprehensions and stereotypes that people might have of one another, and how everyone can better understand each other. It taps into the child-like simplicity of friendships, imploring listeners to not taint it with complications and unease as adults.
‘Friend friend’ marks the 5th collaborative effort between the Woodlands rapper and music production studio Soul Dot, made up of Leonard Goh, Joyce Gim, and Chia Kun Loong. In 2021, they released ‘what are we?’, ‘Heartbreak Boulevard’ together with Marian Carmel, ‘Berapa’, and ‘Jangan Buang Baju Gua’.
Most recently, Akeem Jahat released ‘BASIKAL’ featuringhomegrown rapper THELIONCITYBOY and Malaysian rapper Hullera, as the trio tore up the UK-Drill inspired beat.
