Singaporean singer-actor Fauzie Laily has released his first single after three years titled ‘Tersebutlah Kisah’ on the 25th of March, via homegrown music label Cross Ratio Entertainment.

The comeback track was co-written by Fauzie and upcoming songwriter/producer Hairi Eyes. Lyrically, ‘Tersebutlah Kisah’ takes inspiration from Syair, a type of traditional Malay poetry.
In a press release statement, the singer-actor shared that a Syair competition in secondary school was what invigorated him to be an entertainer, citing it as a “defining moment of his life”.

The release is also accompanied by a music video, slated to drop on the 28th of March. With his brand new single, Fauzie aims to bridge the sounds of pop music today with the traditional Malay artforms that are deeply rooted in his artistry.
In 2005, he joined Mediacorp Suria’s third iteration of the singing competition Anugerah and came out as 2nd runner up. The following year, Fauzie released his debut single ‘Selalu’ through the Malaysian KRU Records and was a mainstay on national radio waves. In 2018, the household name released his debut EP, Tunggu.
