The album features 8 tracks, including previously released singles Rose, You Like The Chase, and Pause + Reset. Being enthralled by agonising emotions and navigating through them motivated Carmel to write letters, which in turn birthed the cathartic release.

Side A represents ‘to you’, inspired by letters Carmel wrote and intended to send, but never did. On the other side of the coin, side B portrays ‘to me’ which takes from the letters she wrote to herself, reflecting on the lessons and growth she’s gone through over these 2 years.

“This is my most vulnerable project yet. We’ve been working on it for 2 years and it’s so surreal to think that I’m finally releasing my debut album,” Carmel publicizes in a press release statement.

“At the start of writing this album, I believed that the songs were written about, and for other people. It was only later when I realised that these were interpretations of events from my own perspective. That’s also why it felt right to name the concept album ‘to you, to me’. The songs were never solely about someone else, they were versions of stories and reminders to myself too. This has come full circle for me.”

Leading up to her album release, Carmel conducted a virtual “scavenger hunt” where contestants had to figure out the names of the tracks on her album, with Carmel dropping clues on her Instagram account.
