Dick Lee dedicates new sentimental single, ‘Go Your Way’, to parents – listen

Singer-songwriter Dick Lee has released a new single, ‘Go Your Way’.

Released on 11 October, the track was created by the ‘Our Singapore’ singer in light of Children’s Day. Standing in the shoes of a parent, Lee captures the reflections and emotions that parents hold for their children, as they navigate life and evolve into extraordinary individuals.

A music video, also released on the same day, showcases the sentimental moments of the singer and his late mother. Lined up with black-and-white photos of the pair, the touching montage encapsulates the singer’s journey of growing up alongside his mother.

On the inspiration for the song, Lee wrote in a Facebook post: “Here is a song dedicated to parents who wish for the very best for their children, a song for the moment you must let your children find their own way and go on their own journey. I dedicate this song to my late mother who never stood in the way of my dreams and adventures and was always there for me when I was lost or needed her.”

Lee, a veteran of the Asian pop scene, is best known for his landmark 1989 album The Mad Chinaman. He is also known for composing and performing celebrated National Day tracks, including ‘Home’ and ‘We Will Get There’.
