Hear65 Music Reviews: Shafiq Haziq, Sugukris, SID, and more

Since the beginning, we’ve been reviewing music on Hear65 every week, and now we'd like to break away from this tradition and pass the baton over to you - the listeners of Singapore’s music. If you've ever been itching to share your thoughts about a new track release, or simply want to introduce good earworms to more listeners, then read on.

For the uninitiated, the Hear65 website has a Review Function to help visitors discover and gain greater insight into the music in Singapore. Good music should always be shared, and we are inviting contributions from friends and fans of our homegrown artists.

Every two weeks, the Hear65 team will select 6-8 reviews every two weeks to publish in a Review Round Up article. Just check out the latest releases and submit your review for a chance to be featured.

Here’s what readers have to say this week:

Fly High - Shafiq Haziq

Rifdee Raziman, 100/100: Instantly fell in love with the song. It has catchy tunes and lyrics. The production of the song has so many layers to it. It gives off late 90s to early 2000s vibe, bringing back the old-school era with touches of modern beats. The lyrics send a message of empowerment which can be relatable to others. Overall great song.

Lyra, The Flying Angel - Kawasxmi

Jimmusic Studio, 100/100: Well written and composed by an 11-year-old girl. The album artwork matched the song very well! Keep up the good work Kawasxmi!

mermaids - SID, Zion Kim., Vito DeVito

Bob Sheldon, 98/100: Such an amazing track! All three artists blend with each other really well, and I love the theme of the song! Super catchy too :)

Wink - Sugukris, SJY

Jeremy James, 100/100: The beat and the melody’s insane, high-quality production, a song you can vibe to whether you understand Tamil or not, something different for sure. 100% a top fav for this month.

Hungover - Soph Retief, RIIDEM, Claire Chew

Gaby Kennedy, 100/100: Soph Retief’s Hungover is SUCH a tune!! It is everything you want in a song- catchy, lyrics are hella relatable and it’s real. I find it super refreshing and have soo much respect for this artist for sharing these lyrics. I absolutely love the tropical beats and can’t wait to hear more. Look forward to dancing the night away with this absolute banger when Phase 3 opens woo!!
