The iconic youth-driven local music festival IGNITE! is coming back again this year. Organised by Republic Polytechnic, the festival provides a stage for Singaporean bands and artists of various genres to play their hearts out. A core element of the festival is its championing of passion and compassion, as it creates a greater awareness about causes and youth volunteerism.
Happening on 29 & 30 July, this edition also marks its 15th anniversary. To celebrate this landmark, bands who have performed in the past will be invited to perform alongside new performers. Aspiring bands of all genres where members are above 16 years of age can take this chance to put themselves out there to get a shot at playing at the IGNITE! Mainstage. The festival committee is currently taking in submissions, and audition finals will take place on 22 July. Emcee auditions are also open currently, with applications closing on 12 June.

Another exciting related event would be IGNITE! Tribute where Republic Polytechnic’s Jammerz Arena, Rhapsody and Beats Encore will collaborate and perform in tribute to the bands who have been a part of IGNITE!. The 2-day mainstage festival will feature 14 bands across 2 stages and will take place at the Republic Cultural Centre at Republic Polytechnic.
