Shye is back with new music.
In her newest song 'mirror', the local singer-songwriter and producer “take stock and remind [her] of the things that matter". The track features reverberating vocals, synth plucks and a pad that feels like a warm blanket’s hug. The production takes inspiration from Shye’s earlier single 'how r u sleeping' from her recently award-nominated album 'hello TRINITY'.
The self-directed music video that accompanies the single features Shye inviting fans on a journey into a serene wilderness. Shye remarks about the song and video, “I think most of us struggle, at one point or another, with not knowing where we belong. I’ve learnt that it’s okay to take my time to heal, to recognise myself in the mirror again. I hope this song makes someone’s journey a little less lonely."
'mirror' follows Shye's earlier releases from this year 'phonecase', a lively bop about a one-sided crush, as well as 'still trying', a delicate and dreamy piece dedicated to her supporters.
