The track prances around the themes that come with embarrassment, or as it’s known colloquially, “losing face.”
“As an Asian and born Chinese, I was brought up in a culture of saving one’s face and I’m sure a lot of us Asians can relate to that,” shared YAØ in a press release statement. “So I’ve decided to write a song about it to bring some light to the subject and overall just own the reality of being an Asian on a pop scale.”
‘Lose Face’ marks the first of several releases lined up from the electronic pop producer this year. In December 2021, YAØ shared with Hear65 via an interview that an album is in the works as well.
In 2021 he released three singles in ‘I Can’t Sleep’, ‘Hopelessly Devoted To You’, and ‘WUW’.
